Weddings, receptions, and other special events held at the DANA Adobe at Historic Rancho Nipomo have an old-world charm that only early California can offer. Ancient paths wind their way through more than a 130 acre of rolling hills, gardens, an orchard and a vineyard – an historic location perfect for today’s celebration.

With both expansive views and small, secluded niches, enjoy the glory of the diverse plants and wildlife just as it was 200 years ago. Guests can be delighted in the shade of the Captain’s Sycamore Tree and the wide canopy of the oaks.

This surprising jewel, tucked away just off the 101 between Arroyo Grande and Santa Maria, could be the perfect setting for your special event.

Wedding Rental Fees

  • Includes all day rental fee (between 11am and 11pm)
  • Includes 1 hour rehearsal prior to event.
    • Venue rental fee $4500 (under 100 people)
    • Venue rental fee $5500 (100-300 people)

Bridal Suite available for an additional $500.
Access to the Commercial Kitchen is $100 per hour.

Additional Details

• Certificate of insurance: This is required for all events as detailed in the contract.
• Sound: Any sound system must abide by SLO County noise ordinance guidelines. This includes ending all sound at 10pm.
• Candles/Heaters: No open flames allowed. Heaters or any equipment producing heat must be 10 feet from any structures or trees.
• Security: A licensed, bonded security guard is to be on site until the event ends, as specified in the contract.
• Food, Wine & Beer Service: DANA Adobe has a preferred vendor list that you may choose to use. Beer and wine may be served or sold in accordance with state ABC regulations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN THE PROPERTY ACCOMMODATE?
300+ are easily accommodated at the Dana Adobe Cultural Center (DACC) with a cocktail style celebration using only cocktail tables. 250 guests at the DACC Courtyard for a sit-down dinner; 200 guests on The Adobe Veranda for a sit-down dinner. More intimate settings including inside the DACC or the historic Mission Vineyard are also available.
WHEN CAN I VISIT THE PROPERTY?
Venue tours are available by appointment. A member of our event team will be available to open up the spaces on the property, provide accurate information. Contact the Dana Adobe team at (805) 929-5679 or by email at events@danaadobe.org.
ARE THERE ANY VENDOR RESTRICTIONS?
We require that a professional planner, licensed & insured caterers, and liability insurance covering any vendor bringing in large items to the property (ex. DJ equipment, photobooths, porta potties & other items that may cause harm or damage to your guests or our property.
DOES DANA ADOBE & CULTURAL CENTER STAFF SET UP + BREAK DOWN OUR EVENT?
Unfortunately, we are not staffed to set up or break down for weddings or other private events.
DO YOU HAVE NOISE RESTRICTIONS?
We are subject to the San Luis Obispo County noise ordinance, which requires the amplification of music to end at 10:00pm. This applies to any and all music in any of our onsite event spaces. It is our guest’s responsibility to inform their hired musicians of this policy. Failure to comply can result in immediate termination of your event.
CAN WE BRING IN OUR OWN ALCOHOL?
Yes! You may supply your own beer, wine and/or liquor. We do require that all alcohol served in the event areas be served by a professional bartender and/or licensed caterer that has a California Food Handlers card. We ask that “last call” occur at least 15 minutes before the scheduled end of the event for safety and liability purposes. If you are planning to sell alcohol, you are required to have an ABC license for your event. You are not required to have a liquor license for a private event with a hosted bar.
CAN MY EVENT GUESTS LEAVE THEIR CARS OVERNIGHT?

Guests needing to leave vehicles on the property overnight are required to have vehicles parked only in the designated guest parking area. Vehicles parked anywhere other than designated parking areas are subject to removal at the owner’s expense. All vehicles must be retrieved on our next business day between 9am – 12pm or are subject to towing from the property at the owner’s expense.

CAN I LEAVE DECOR, RENTALS, OR PERSONAL ON YOUR PROPERTY AFTER MY EVENT?
All items must be removed from the property by 11P.M. the day of your event. Pre-arranged rentals being picked up on a different date, with prior approval by the DANA Adobe venue coordinator are an exception.
WHAT IS THE SMOKING POLICY?
Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings on the property.  Due to ongoing fire hazards, we recommend no smoking outdoors on the property. However, if you have guests that smoke, we will work with you on setting up a designated, outdoor smoking area.  Please ask us about the designation of an approved outdoor smoking area. The violation of this policy in any of our buildings or in a non-approved designated smoking area can result in a charge for Cleaning & Damage following your event. It is your responsibility to inform your guests of this policy. Any cigarette butt found on property after an event will be subject to an additional fee.
WHEN CAN I HAVE ACCESS TO THE EVENT SPACES?
For weddings and memorial services, we allow set-up to begin at 9am. Events start at 3PM or after. For private events, rental companies, other vendors, and you have access up to two hours prior to the event.
IS SECURITY REQUIRED FOR MY EVENT?
All events held on the DANA Adobe & Cultural Center property require mandatory security of one guard per every 100 guests.
