Rancho Nipomo Dana Adobe

Current Exhibition “Intersection - Where Diversity Happens”

April 27 - October 27, 2012

Rancho Nipomo contains a rich mosaic of native and introduced cultures and natural forces.  Everything in the world around us, from democratic ideals to the weeds on the surrounding hills, are products of the past.

Come explore this heritage at DANA’s first exhibit.

Historical maps, photographs from Nipomo’s early days and two watercolors of the Dana Adobe by a noted artist will be on display in “Intersections: Where Diversity Happens.”

Tours of Rancho Nipomo Dana Adobe’s “Intersection - Where Diversity Happen” continue every Saturday and Sunday beginning April 28th, 2012 - October 27, 2012 between the hours of 1:00 -                            4:00pm.  Furnished period rooms are also open to the public.

“…[filaree] is just now beginning to bloom and covering the ground like a sward of grass.  The horses consume it with avidity, and even the squaws eat it with apparent relish.”

John Charles Frémont (1844) upon noticing the abundance of Europen weeds that appeared in California during his second venture west.
