Jr Docents

The meaning of docent is "guide". Jr. Docents will be trained to guide visitors as they revisit the rancho period by telling the "story" of the Dana family when they occupied the house and lands.

Jr. Docents are youth ages 12-18 who are interested in volunteering at D.A.N.A. events and who want to share stories about the Dana family with others. We will train eligible youth

Youth are welcome to bring any volunteer applications and school forms they may need to track their hours as community service.

What Jr. Docents do:

Jr. Docents can help with any of our events including Las Posadas and Heritage Day. Jr. Docents can help reenact history or they can volunteer with children's activities. Jr Docents also host Summer Campfires at the Adobe. Our Jr. Docents help greet guests, build the fires, and set up as well as oversee the toasting of marshmallows, story telling, and provide the music/singing (campfire appropriate).
