Voices on the Veranda

This living history event will be one to remember! Take a trip back in time, watch as DANA reenactors bring the stories of Maria Josefa Petra and her two daughters, Maria Josefa de Pollard and Adelina Dana, to life. Join us for this educational living history event!


Chamber Mixer

The Dana Adobe will be hosting Chamber of Commerce Mixer. Support our local economy and our community. Come Join us for a evening of fun and conversation; selection of wines and h'ordurves will be served. 


PCPA GALA Fundraiser

Location: Santa Maria PCPA Marian Theatre                          Date: Friday, September 17,                                                     Time: Private Reception, 5:30 p.m....Show, 7:00 p.m.

Start your evening among friends with delicious treats and refreshing wine from Bedford Winery. Playwright Jose Cruz Gonzalez and historian Paula Carr will be our guest. 

Set on the Central Coast of Rancho California in the years between 1831 and 1846, Invierno blends the cultural layers that composed the state of that era in an exploration of jealousy, betrayal and redemption. The work has its origins in William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, but benefits from the multilingual and multicultural explorations of history and humanity that typify the works of José Cruz González. 


Fiestas de Santa Maria

Location: Santa Maria Fair Park                                        Date: Sunday, September 19,                                                 Time: 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

It's the first annual of The Fiestas de Santa Maria. Celebrating the 200 year Anniversary of Mexico's Independence Day. Come for a day of food, fun, and entertainment. The Dana Adobe is proud to be participating in this event.will be the first year Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos will be participating; come by our booth and show support. 


"Dia de Los Muertos "

Location: The Dana Adobe                                                Date: Saturday, October 30,                                               Time: Starts at 1:00 p.m

Join us at the Dana Adobe for an afternoon devoted to learning about this special tradition Mexican festival which honors the memories of the departed relatives and friends. Learn  how to make your own "ofrenda".                          


Open House- "Las Posadas"

Location: The Dana Adobe                                                Date: Saturday December 4                                              Time: Starts at 1p.m 

Annual open house, Christmas at the Dana Adobe. The open house recreates an 1850's California Christmas, including the trimming, refreshments and activities that would have been a part of holiday celebrations during the rancho era.

Nipomo derives from the Chumash word “Nepomah” meaning “the foot of the hills.” Nipomo was founded in 1882 from land grants to William Goodwin Dana from Mexico.  Learn more
